Daily Equities Report – 1 Jun 2021
Riding on the record highs touched yesterday, the markets took off with decent gains but failed to hold ground as sell-off was seen early in the session. At close, Sensex was down 2.5 points to close at 51,935, and the Nifty was down 0.05% to end at 15,575. The not-so-encouraging GDP numbers of FY21 might have also played some part in today’s market movements.
None of the sectors gained or lost more than a percent. Nifty Energy(0.34%) and Media(0.32%) were the top gainers followed by IT(0.11%) and Pharma(0.04%) as the banks collectively lost the most.
Among the CNX500 stocks, PNBHOUSING(20%) and CGCL(18.66%) gained the most whereas REDINGTON(-6.09%) and INGERRAND(-5.56%) were the top losers.
In the Nifty50, ADANIPORTS(3.83%) and ONGC(3.43%) gained the most followed by big banks. JSWSTEEL(-2.24%) and TATASTEEL(-2.22%) were among the top losers of the day.
FLUOROCHEM(18.7x) and CGCL(12.6x) topped the volume charts that were also among the highest deliverable changes of the day with AKZOINDIA topping the list.
The FIIs were the net sellers of Rs.449 cr whereas DIIs bought a net of Rs.230 cr worth of securities.
