Daily Equities Report – 12 Jul 2021

The markets today took off on a positive note with noticeable gap up opening but, traders turned cautious ahead of CPI and IIP data was announced. At close, wiping the day’s gains, the Sensex was down 13.50 points(0.03%) at 52373, and the Nifty was up 2.80 points(0.02%) at 15693.
Among the sectors, Nifty realty outperformed significantly with 3.6% gains with a distant second of private banks(0.42%). IT(-0.45%) and metal(-0.21%) saw the most selling.
In CNX500, UJJIVAN and EQUITAS hit the 20% upper circuit whereas the top losers were METROPOLIS(-4%) and JUSTDIAL(-3.5%).
In Nifty50, ULTRACEMCO(2.5%) and GRASIM(2.3%) gained the most while, ADANIPORTS(-1.45%) and BPCL(-1.36%) were the top losers.
WELCORP(13.1x) and PRSMJOHNSN(13x) topped the volume charts as well the deliverable change list with13.8x and 13.3x spikes respectively.
FIIs today sold a net of Rs.746cr worth of shares and DIIs bought a net of Rs.447cr worth of shares.
