Daily Equities Report – 12 May 2021
On the backdrop of US markets touching a one-month low amid speculation of rising inflation pressure, markets in India took another plunge as BSE Sensex fell 1% to settle at 48691 and the broader Nifty 50 settled at 14696.
In the Nifty 50, TATAMOTORS and TITAN gained the most. TATASTEEL and HINDALCO were among the top losers.
GODREJCP and VENKEYS touched the 20% upper circuit in the CNX500 whereas BLISSGVS and DCAL lost the most, losing 9-14%.
GODREJCP and GODREJ were amongst the most traded.
Most of the sectoral indices ended in red except Auto, Media and PSU Bank
FIIs and DIIs sold a net of Rs. 1260 cr and Rs. 704 cr respectively
CPI fell to 4.29% in April from 5.52% in March. Food inflation fell to 2.02% in April from over 4% in March and factory output measured by IIP was up 22.4% in March against a contraction of 3.5% in February.
