True to the analysts’ caution of an obvious and nearing halt to the bull run was finally seen in the markets as the Sensex was down 271 points(0.51%), at 52,502 and the Nifty was down 102 points(0.64%), at 15,767.
Among the sectors, Nifty FMCG(0.58%) and IT(0.25%) were the only two to end the day with gains as yesterday’s top gainers realty(-1.26%) and metal(-2.85%) were the top losers today.
In the Nifty50, TATACONSUM(2.1%) and NESTLEIND(1.5%) were the top gainers whereas ADANIPORTS(-7.8%) continued to fall post Fitch’s negative outlook rating followed by TATASTEEL(-2.9%) and other steel peers were the other top losers.
In the broader CNX500, BASF(8.8%) and JSWENERGY(7.4%) gained the most while, FCONSUMER(-9.7%) and SUPRAJIT(-8.25%) were the top losers.
WABCOINDIA(60x) and BASF(18.8x) saw the highest change in traded volumes. SUPRAJIT(31.4x) and RELAXO(24.5x) witnessed the highest deliverable change.
In the capital market segment, FIIs and DIIs both sold a net of Rs.870cr and Rs.874cr respectively,
