Daily Equities Report – 17 Jun 2021
It was a day eclipsed by Federal Reserve’s commentary on possible hike in interest rates as early as FY23. All major indices across the world ended low. Indian indices were not spared by the effects as the Sensex was down 178.65 points(0.34), at 52,323 and the Nifty50 was down 76 points(0.48%), at 15,691.
Among the sectors, similar to yesterday, IT(0.57%) and FMCG(0.14%) were the only two to end the day positively whereas metal(-2.32%) and realty(-1.65%) contributed the most to the day’s losses.
In the CNX500, HSCL(7.7%) and GREAVESCOT(7.7%) were the top gainers while ADANIPORTS(-8.5%) and GRAPHITE(-7.4%) were the top losers.
In the Nifty50,ULTRACEMCO(1.7%) and TCS(1.6%) gained the most whereas ADANIPORTS(9%) and INDUSINDBK(-3%) were the top losers.
In the volume charts, HSCL(17.8x) and ADVENZYMES(17.5x) saw sharp spikes in the daily volume change while in the deliverables chart, MFSL(27x) topped the list, followed by ADVENZYMES(20x).
In the capital market segment, FIIs sold a net of Rs.879cr and DIIs bought in on the drop a net of Rs.45cr worth of securities.
