Daily Equities Report – 18 Jun 2021

The markets did open on a positive note but couldn’t avoid slipping sharply, both benchmark indices had dropped more than a percent each. However, the recovery did happen with Sensex ending the day 21 points(0.04%) higher at 52344 and Nifty50 ended marginally lower at 15683, 8 points down(-0.05%).
Sector-wise, only Nifty FMCG(0.29%), private banks(0.05%) and finserv(0.06%) ended the day on green while energy stocks(-1.95%) and PSU banks(-1.77%) were the biggest laggards.
In the CNX500, TCNSBRANDS(15.9%) and IDEA(9.5%) were the top gainers as ADANIPORTS(7.33%) and ADANIENT(8.76%) ended the day in green after three sessions. GRAPHITE(-9.74%) and HINDCOPPER(-5.57%) were the top losers of the day.
ADANIPORTS(7.15%) and BAJAJ-AUTO(3%) gained the most in Nifty50 while ONGC(-3.5%) and COALINDIA(-3.4%) were the top losers of the day.
In the volume charts, TCNSBRANDS(176x) and SBICARD(80x) saw astronomical spikes along with deliverable figures of 19.6x and 102x respectively.
In the capital market segment, both FIIs and DIIs bought in at the lows as they bought a net of Rs.2680cr and Rs.446cr respectively.
