Daily Equities Report – 18 May 2021
Markets picked up from it ended yesterday as the investors got Rs.2.8 lakh cr richer today. The constant decline in cases over the last one week has lifted the market sentiment and the benchmark Sensex and Nifty breached the 50,000 and 15,000 mark, respectively, on Tuesday.
NIFTY 50(1.24%) ended the day at 15108 and SENSEX (1.26%) at 50203.
In the Nifty50, M&M(5.77%) and BAJAJ-AUTO(5.19%) were the top gainers whereas BHARTIARTL(-2.34%) and ITC(-1%) were the top losers.
In the broader CNX500, TCIEXP(16.4%) and KEI(14%) gained the most. IIFLWAM(-7.3%) and CANBK(-4.4%) were among the top losers.
In the sectoral indices, NIFTY AUTO(3.2%) and NIFTY ENERGY(1.8%) led the way upwards.
SCHNEIDER(30x) and TCIEXP(26x) saw unusual high volumes whereas MAHINDCIE(88%) and CERA(-86%) saw a plunge in their traded volumes.
VMART(12.6x) and SCHNEIDER(11.7x) were trading the highest for delivery. GODREJAGRO(-64%) and BALKRISIND(-65%) witnessed the steepest plunge in deliverable volumes.
FIIs and DIIs both were net buyers at Rs.618 cr and Rs.449 cr respectively.
