Daily Equities Report – 21 May 2021
The markets were back in the green tracks after two consecutive days of trading in red in hopes of restrictions being eased on the back of declining daily COVID cases.
Sensex(1.97%) was up 975.62 points, and ended at 50,540 and the Nifty50(1.81%) gained 269 points and ended at 15,175.
All the indices ended the day in green with Nifty Bank(3.82%) and Nifty Bank(3.80%) gaining the most.
In the Nifty50, SBIN(5.06%) and HDFCBANK(4.78%) were the top gainers along with other banks whereas GRASIM(-0.38%) and POWERGRID(-0.31%) were the top losers.
In the broader CNX500, INDIANB(10.78%) and HFCL(10.59%) gained the most whereas LAOPALA(-5.92%) and HAVELLS(-4.11%) were among the top losers.
INDIANB(14.2x) and TORNTPOWER(13.3x) were the highest volume gainers. In terms of deliverable quantity, KEC(22.6x) and LUXIND(19x) topped the list.
In the capital markets, FIIs were the net buyers of Rs.510 cr and DIIs bought a net of Rs.649 cr.
