Daily Equities Report – 24 May 2021
Markets started the week with a lot of ups and downs, eventually ending the day in green. Amid a drop in COVID cases, a few states have hinted at the possibility of easing lockdown from next month onwards. At close, the Sensex was up 111 points(0.22%) ending at 50651, and the Nifty was up 22 points( 0.15%) at 15,197.
Similar to the last week, Nifty PSU Bank(2.13%) and Realty(1.36%) were among the highest gainers.
In the CNX500, JTEKTINDIA(20%) and BSOFT(11.55%) were the highest gainers whereas HFCL(-8.96%) and POLYMED(-7.25%) were amongst the top losers.
In the Nifty50, IOC(4.89%) and BPCL(2.77%) gained the most. SHREECEM(-2.51%) and JSWSTEEL(-2.25%) were the top losers.
Traders showed most interest in THERMAX(17.3x) and WHIRLPOOL(17.3x) during the day in terms of volume.
WHIRLPOOL also topped the list in highest deliverable change(28.3x) with IIFLWAM(27.8x) trailing at second.
FIIs ended the day as net buyers of Rs.585 cr worth of shares whereas DIIs sold a net of Rs.707 cr.
