Daily Equities Report – 25 May 2021
It was yet another flat day in the markets even though there was a gap-up opening. The Sensex ended the day 0.03% down at 50637, and the Nifty was up 0.07% and ended at 15208 as the financial stocks had risen for over a week and finally gave up, wiping off the early gains.
All the sectoral indices except Nifty energy, fin services and bank indices ended in green, with media(3.1%) stocks gaining the most.
In the broader CNX500, SCHNEIDER(20%) and DISHTV(19.8%) topped the charts while UNIONBANK(-8.8%) and LAOPALA(-6.5%) stayed at the bottom. In the Nifty50, ASIANPAINT(3.5%) and TITAN(3.3%) gained the most whereas HDFCBANK(-1.9%) and HDFCLIFE(-1.3%) were the top losers.
In the volume charts, TTKPRESTIGE(54.4x) volumes went through the roof, trailed by AMARAJABAT(18.6x) and ROUTE(16.2x).
Among the highest figures in deliverable quantities, traders swept up AMARAJABAT(-6% and a block deal) and TTKPRESTIGE(shot up 14%).
FIIs were the net buyers of Rs.959 cr and DIIs sold a net of Rs.563 cr worth of shares.
