Daily Equities Report – 27 Jul 2021
A strong sell-off in the Chinese tech stocks and a disappointing set of numbers of pharma giants dragged the market down today. At the close, the Sensex was down 274 points(0.52%), at 52,579, and the Nifty slipped 78 points(0.49%), to 15,747.
Among the sectors, Nifty metal(1.46%) and PSU bank(0.38%) were the gainers whereas, pharma(-4.33%), which saw its biggest intra-day drop in 7 months, and energy(-0.95%) were the top drags.
In CNX500, CCL(16.3%) and MMTC(11%) gained the most whereas, APLLTD(-11.2%) and DRREDDY(-10.5%) were the top losers.
In Nifty50, HINDALCO(4.32%) and SBILIFE(3.19%) topped the charts while, DRREDDY(-10.3%) and CIPLA(-3.5%) were the top losers.
In the volume charts, DRREDDY(30.4x) and PFIZER(13.5x) drew a lot of interest from the investors and traders alike. In terms of deliverable changes, pharma stocks dominated – DRREDDY(21x) and SANOFI(9.1x).
FIIs were the net sellers again of Rs.1459cr worth of shares while, DIIs bought a net of Rs.730cr worth of shares.
