Daily Equities Report – 28 Jun 2021
The markets touched record highs minutes after opening but slipped quickly into negative territory once the finance minister announced additional fiscal measures to COVID affected sectors. At close, the Sensex was down 189 points(0.36%), at 52,735, and the Nifty was down 45 points(0.29%), at 15,814.
Among the sectors, Nifty PSU banks(2.4%) and metals(12.8%) topped the charts whereas media(-0.64%) and energy(-0.51%) were the top losers.
In CNX500, NATIONALUM(9%) and SEQUENT(8.8%) gained the most while THYROCARE(-9.6%), upon news of its majority acquisition, and ATGL(-5%) were the top losers.
In Nifty50, DRREDDY(1.8%) and HINDALCO(1.7%) were the top gainers while HDFCLIFE(-4.1%) and TITAN(-1.3%) were the biggest laggards.
In the volume charts, CARBORUNIV(13.4x) and SEQUENT(12.7x) saw steep spikes while, highest deliverable changes were seen in CARBORUNIV(17.1x) and RADICO(11.1x).
In the capital market segment, FIIs sold a net of Rs.1658cr worth of shares whereas DIIs bought a net of Rs.1277cr worth of shares.
