Daily Equities Report – 7 Jun 2021

Ahead of the Prime Minister’s address to the nation, optimism was seen in the markets as well with hopes of further easing of restrictions. The Sensex was up 228.46 points (0.44%) to end the day at 52328, and the Nifty continued to gain further momentum with a gain of 81 points(0.52%) to end the day at 15751.
Nifty energy(1.85%), media(1.16%) and IT(1.11%) gained the most amongst the indices.
In the CNX500, MAZDOCK(19.76%) saw a sharp spike ahead of its Q4 results while, ANGELBRKG continued its uphill ride as it gained 14.2%.  VARROC(-11.42%) and IOLCP(-6.16%) were the top losers of the day.
In the Nifty50, ADANIPORTS(5.28%) continued its bullish run as POWERGRID(5%) and NTPC(4.21%) saw some green shoots. The top losers were the Bajaj twins – BAJFINANCE(4.46%) and BAJAJFINSV(-2.94%).
Among the volume gainers, IRCTC(16x) and CERA(15x) topped the list and also saw the highest deliverable change. The former garnered interest in hopes of relaxation of restrictions.
The FIIs today sold a net of Rs.186cr whereas DIIs bought a net of Rs.983cr.
