Daily Equities Report – 9 Jun 2021

A gap up opening followed by steady hovering for half the day seemed too much to handle as markets witnessed profit-booking in great volumes. As a result, the Sensex was down 333.93 points(0.64%) at 51,941, and the Nifty was down 104 points(0.67%) at 15,635.
All the sectors ended the day in red with Nifty Media(-2.1%) and realty(-1.66%) being the top losers while IT(-0.31%) and FMCG(-0.23%)were the least affected.
In the CNX500, POLYPLEX(9.9%) and RESPONIND(9%) were the top gainers whereas PETRONET(-8%) and FINCABLES(-6.8%) were the top losers. In the Nifty50, POWERGRID(3.93%) continued its bullish run joined by SBILIFE(1.75%). The top losers were TATAMOTORS(-2.6%) and ADANIPORTS(-2.43%).
In the volume charts, TEAMLEASE(40x) and DHANUKA(39.9x) saw the highest interest from investors as the two also saw the highest delivery change with 53.8x and 10.2x spikes respectively.
The FIIs turned net sellers today of Rs.846cr of shares whereas DIIs sold a net of Rs.271cr of shares.
