Key Market Updates
  • Nifty 50 top gainers: TCS (2.69%), Britannia (1.74%), Bharti Airtel (1.69%), Nestle India (1.67%), HDFC Life Insurance (1.67%).
  • The Nifty Midcap 150 index & Nifty Small Cap 250 index registered losses of – 4.1% and – 5.9%.
  • The Indian government on Friday raised the windfall tax on petroleum crude to Rs 4,900 a tonne from Rs 4,600.
  • U.S. CPI Unexpectedly rises to 3.2% Annual Pace in February.
  • Indian government reduced import duty on electric vehicles to 15% with conditions under the new EV policy.
  • India’s February trade deficit widens to $18.71 billion, exports at an 11-month high.

 

Startup, M&A Deals
  • Fintech startup FREED raised $7.5 million from Sorin Investments and Multiply Ventures and Piper Serica.
  • SaaS fintech startup Perfios raised $80 million from Teachers’ Venture Growth (TVG) at a valuation of more than $1 billion.
  • AI-driven dermatology platform CureSkin raised $20 million from Healthquad, JSW Ventures, Khosla Ventures, and Sharrp Ventures.
  • Lohum, a lithium-ion pack battery maker raised $54 million from Singularity Growth, Baring Private Equity, Cactus Venture Partners, and Venture East.
  • BlackSoil NBFC raised equity of about $12 million from existing Indian investors and family offices.
  • Geriatric care service provider KITES Senior Care raised $7.8 million led by Dr Ranjan Pai’s Manipal Education and Medical Group (MEMG) Family Office Fund.
