Weekly Equities Report – 23 Jul 2021
The week started off with a sharp drop, that wiped off 2/3rds of previous week’s gains, in all the domestic indices due to a global sell-off, thanks to the update from OPEC+ regarding increase in oil production.
For the holiday shortened week, Sensex ended at 52976 with 0.31% losses and Nifty50 ended at 15856 with 0.42% losses. Among the sectors, Nifty IT(1.68%) lead the chart followed by realty(0.88%) and FMCG(0.84%). Nifty media(-2.6%), pvt bank(-2.26%) and auto(-2.18%) were the top losers.
In CNX500, JSL(25%) and JSWENERGY(24%) gained the most while, IDEA (-11.6%) and VENKEYS(-10.5%) were the top losers.
In Nifty50, IBULHSGFIN(6.6%) and BHARTIARTL (4.35%) gained the most while, INDUSINDBK(-6.24%) and HDFCBANK(-5.13%) were the top losers.
MAHLOG (17.8x) and SCHAEFFLER(12.7x) witnessed the highest deliverable change over the week.
For the week, FIIs sold a whopping Rs.5444cr worth of shares whereas, DIIs bought a net of Rs.5051cr worth of shares.
