The markets opened with a gap up opening today, following cues from SGX and US markets. But it could not sustain the gains longer as the markets moved only in red thereafter. Nifty 50 ended flat at 14678, down by 0.13% and the case was same with Sensex although it ended marginally in green at 48732(0.09% up).

With 10-11% uptick, WELSPUNIND and PRINCEPIPE gained the most in the CNX 500 whereas, ATGL and JINDALSTEL lost the most, going 8-9% down.
TCNSBRANDS and WELSPUNIND traded in unusually high volumes of 13 and 36 times respectively whereas GODREJIND and SIEMENS witnessed 86-88% lesser volume.

In the broader Nifty50, ASIANPAINT and UPL went up by 7.4-8.4%. COALINDIA and TATASTEEL were the top losers by 4%.

DIIs were the net buyers at Rs.613.26 cr and FIIs continued to be the net sellers for 3rd straight session at Rs.2607.85 cr.
