Daily Equities Report – 17 May 2021
With overall addition to the daily COVID cases recording the lowest since April 20th in the country, crude oil prices edging a bit lower, Nifty50 went 1.7% higher at 14923 whereas Sensex ended the day 1.8% up, closing at 49580.
Nifty Bank and financial services saw a good uptick today as it ended 4% higher.
In the broader CNX500, HFCL(14.38%) and SHILPAMED(11.9%) gained the most whereas, SWSOLAR(-10.49%) and AARTIDRUGS(-8%) were the top losers. In the Nifty50, bank stocks led the rally with INDUSINDBK(7.5%) and SBIN(6.6%) gains. CIPLA(-2.2%) and BHARTIARTL(-2.2%) were the top losers.
SHILPAMED(9.7x) and CHOLAHLDNG(9.4x) saw the highest spurt in volumes.
TCNSBRANDS(-94%) AND MASFIN(-86%) witnessed a sharp drop in their traded volumes.
CHOLAHLDNG(15x) and VIPIND(8.8x) saw the highest volumes for delivery whereas PEL(87%) and ASIANPAINT (-86%) saw the highest drop in deliverable volumes.
FIIs were the net sellers of Rs. 2255.8 cr and DIIs bought a net of Rs.1948 cr.
