Daily Equities Report – 28 May 2021
Ignoring the RBI governor’s caution yesterday about a likely bubble in the market, the markets extended their green run, courtesy of constantly declining COVID cases.
BSE Sensex gained 308 points to end at 51423, while the broader Nifty 50 index made a record closing at 15,446, by gaining 97 points.
The gains were led by Nifty Energy(1.41%) and PSU Banks(0.67%), the only ones to end the day in red were IT, media and pharma, though none losing more than 1.2%.
In the broader CNX500, REDINGTON(19.98%) and LUXIND(16.11%) were the top gainers whereas IPCALAB(-7.98%) and HEG(-7.67%) were the top losers.
RELIANCE(5.99%) and ADANIPORTS(3.41%) were the biggest contributors while SUNPHARMA(-3.84%) and SHREECEM(-1.66%) dragged the most.
In the volume charts, METROPOLIS(27.9x) and SOLARINDS(19.5x) witnessed keen interest from traders and accordingly, the two saw the highest deliverable quantity spikes as well.
FIIs were the net buyers of Rs.913 cr worth of shares on the day whereas DIIs also bought a net of Rs.1275 cr worth of shares.
