Weekly Equities Report – 14 May 2021
In the holiday curtailed week from 9-14th May, the markets traded in red for most part of all sessions, thanks to the fears of rising inflation and COVID related restrictions in India. Nifty50 came down 0.98% ending at 14677 whereas SENSEX ended 0.88% down at 48732.
In the sectoral indices, PSU banks(3.68%) and media(2.38%) gained the most whereas private banks(-2.75%) and Metal(4.58%) were the top losers.
In the broader CNX500, VENKEYS(33.96%) and CHAMBLFERT(23.46%) gained the most in the week. VAIBHAVGBL(-13.94%) and JINDALSTEL(-13.04%) were the top losers.
SUNDARMFIN(16.4x) and CGCL(14.8x) saw the highest spurt in delivery volumes whereas VGUARD(-73.2%) and CEATLTD(-73.5%) were amongst the least traded for delivery.
FIIs were the net sellers at Rs.3620 cr and DIIs were net sellers as well at Rs.1244 cr.
