Weekly Equities Report – 9 Jul 2021

Though the week started off on a good note and there were significant gains till Wednesday, it was a sharp drop from there on as the week’s gains were wiped off on the last two sessions of the week.
The benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty50, ended the week with marginal losses of 0.21% each whereas Nifty Midcap(1.34%) and Smallcap(1.24%) ended the week with noticeable gains.
Among the sectors, Nifty realty(6.25%) topped the chart while metals(2.8%) was a distant second. Auto(-2.5%) and PSU bank(-2.1%) were the biggest laggards of the week along with IT(-1.2%).
In CNX500, EQUITAS(23.15) and RAIN(23%) gained significantly followed by HFCL(22.5%) whereas, TATAMOTORS(-11.2%) and TATAMTRDVR(-8.7%) were the top losers.
In Nifty50, the top gainers were BAJAJFINSV(9.4%) and TATASTEEL(9.1%) while  TATAMOTORS(-11.2%) and BAJAJ-AUTO(-4.3%) were the top losers.
The highest change in deliverable quantity was seen in WESTLIFE(14x) and VSTIND(13.4x).
For the week, FIIs were the net sellers of a net of Rs.2028cr of shares and DIIs bought a net of Rs.92cr worth of shares.
