Weekly Equities Report – 21 May 2021
Markets ended the week on a good note after two days of fall with the highest weekly gains in over a month. Sensex(3.65% ) and NIfty50(3.39%) ended at 50540 and 15175 respectively amid gradual improvement in COVID numbers in the country and positive results of market giants.
Banking indices gained 7-7.5% followed by Nifty Realty that went up by 6% in the week.
TCIEXP(37.33%) and HFCL(31.99%) were the top gainers whereas SWSOLAR(-10.23%) and ROSSARI(-8.66%) were the top losers of the week in the CNX500.
Indiabulls Housing(17.25%) and Indusind Bank(14.05%) were the gainers in the Nifty50 whereas Bharti Airtel(-5.26%) and GAIL India(-4.55%) were among the top losers of the week.
VARROC(28.6x) and RESPONIND(28x) gained the most in terms of deliverable quantities.
For the week, FIIs were the net sellers at Rs.1753 cr and DIIs were the net buyers of Rs.1318 cr worth of shares.
